We are celebrating a Leader in Me Lighthouse certification for Eaton Park Elementary School, located in Abbeville, LA! The Lighthouse certification is an outstanding achievement and represents a significant benchmark of excellence for the school.

"We at Eaton Park Elementary feel that this moment is surreal but something we've had our eye on for the past six years despite all the challenges from the pandemic and the hurricanes! It has truly been a family effort from all stakeholders that work on this campus. We are blessed to work with the best students and parents and look forward to building our Littlest Wildcats into future leaders of the Abbeville community," said Angela Godwin, Principal at Eaton Park Elementary School.

The Lighthouse Certification is attainable only by participating Leader in Me schools. A prestigious certification applying usually occurs four to five years after a school begins the Leader in Me process. Today, there are over 300 schools worldwide that have earned a Lighthouse certification.

Lighthouse schools must recertify their commitment every two years to ensure that they are continually fostering growth in outstanding leadership and culture.

"Being a Leader in Me Lighthouse School is a milestone that FranklinCovey awards to honor the attainment of a well-rounded school of leadership. Approximately 10% of schools have implemented this process with such fidelity that they receive this distinguished honor. Eaton Park has transformed their school culture and has obtained measurable results in leadership, culture, and academics. United Way of Acadiana is thrilled to have Eaton Park serving as a Lighthouse for our UWA '64 strong' school Super District where we are growing great leaders for Acadiana," said Becky Kreamer, Education Director at United Way of Acadiana.
